PISS & MOAN

12 bass. 2 hours.

The wall of brambles guarding the 1/2-acre farm pond ate my lunch. But that’s how it goes when you play the game.

And here I am lamenting that I’m handcuffed during the week.

Whatever.

  1. I love those quick bass trips during the summer. I’ve been fortunate and been on about 6 trips like that in the last 2 weeks. Even on cold nights I’ve had top water success!

This will my story in about a week. I’ve decided to let the second job go so last week I gave my notice. 5 days left, and yes, I am counting! I too will be sure the kids and my wife join me too.

  3. Good fishing all around….I love it!!

  4. BOB NISSON

JUST LIKE GRAYEAGLE. 50 FEET ALMOST SOLID MANZANITA THEN TROUT HEAVEN. GREAT SHOT BRO.

  5. Matt, you read it right. 6 short trips. Most were about 1 hour….that’s from driveway to pond and back to driveway. One of them I think pushed closer to 1.5 hours. Great time having an hour alone with one of my kids and catching a few fish each! The top secret pond I’ve been fishing has been very good to us this month.

  6. Everyone needs a fast get away fly fishing spot. I’ve got two nearby that keep my sanity.

    “Top Secret Pond” that’s gold.

Lately I’ve been noticing water hiding in places I’ve missed in the past. Thinking about doing some covert “5-casts-and-out” ops. Hit ’em quick and leave the car running…

  7. Matt, I’ve seen many places I want to drop fishing in. There are some sweet looking ponds on 390 that I’ve often told my wife that someday she’s going to drop me off at the pond, exit at the next exit and circle around and pick me up again. I haven’t tried it yet.

Yes, once school is out, let’s fish!
